About | MahjPassport

some games are worth remembering.

We’re a husband-and-wife team who genuinely love playing mahjong. MahjPassport started around a table — and a realization that the memories being made there deserved a home.

Where it began

It started the way
a lot of good ideas do —
around a table.

We genuinely love playing mahjong. Sometimes that means finding a game while we travel. Sometimes it’s just the two of us playing around the house. And every month, it means watching a familiar group of friends gather around the table for their regular Mahj night.

Over time, we realized something. There were a lot of memories being made around those tables.

  • A beautiful hand.
  • A ridiculous joker swap.
  • The night someone finally finished a line they’d been chasing.
  • A favorite tile set.
  • A trip where mahjong somehow became part of the story.
  • The same friends gathering again and again.

They weren’t necessarily moments anyone needed to put on social media. But they still deserved a place to be remembered.

That idea became MahjPassport.

The Team

We bring very different things.

One builds the systems. One curates the beauty. MahjPassport lives in between.

The Systems Thinker

Always organizing, tracking, categorizing — and wondering how all the pieces should fit together. If there’s a structure to build, he’s already mapped it out.

The Art Curator

Noticing the colors, the photographs, the tile sets, the details — and the beauty that makes every game feel a little different. The eye behind the aesthetics.

Our Philosophy

A little bit system.
A little bit art.

MahjPassport lives somewhere in between. We believe every tile set is a piece of art. Every line on the card is its own little design. Every completed section, winning hand, and night around the table becomes another part of your story.

So instead of building another tracker, we wanted to build something that felt more like a —

passport, scrapbook, and collection of memories
from your mahjong journey.
Charleston Edition I

The First Destination

Why Charleston?

The Charleston is the first strategic act of an American mahjong game — the moment the tiles begin moving, possibilities begin forming, and the game really starts. It felt like the perfect place for our passport to begin too.

The Charleston Edition is personal to us. Its stamps, illustrations and graphics are inspired by photographs we’ve taken during our own trips to the city over the years.

  • Places we’ve walked.
  • Things that caught our eye.
  • Memories that stayed with us.

Those images have been reimagined as part of the visual story of the first MahjPassport.

“The Charleston is the first strategic act of an American mahjong game — the moment tiles begin moving, possibilities begin forming, and the game really starts.”
